Golf Insurance
The big question? Do you have golf insurance? Do you need it? Is it all a scare story? OK, so just how many people are hit on the golf course by errant balls and then sue the person who played the ball? And how many people are lucky enough to make a hole in one and then arrive at the 19th, to find that the bar is full of long lost friends, each expecting a glass of 30-year old brandy? Not many, probably, but how many golfers suffer theft of their equipment whilst out of the house? Here, the equipment is not necessarily covered by the household insurance and could be uninsured. Or what if you yourself are injured and are unable to work? Even worse, your injury prevents you from playing golf for a year - right after paying that year's subs! What a disaster! These are the sort of events that decent golf insurance can cover you for, depending on the policy. Golf insurance will not only cover you for errant drives, but loss of equipment, personal injury and even golf club fees when you are unable to play. Check a few policies and see what is on offer, but as with any insurance, check carefully the exclusions to make sure that you are actually covered by the insurance! Be familiar with the rules of the insurance - for example, what are your responsibilities for looking after the equipment? Leaving it on the back seat of the car and walking off probably won't be covered at all. Your insurer will probably expect you to take some care with the equipment! After all, it could be worth thousands of pounds! |
